About The Audio of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
This story begins with a flashback to the past on Tom Riddle, the wizard eventually to become known and feared in the Wizarding World as Lord Voldemort. It is revealed that the groundskeeper was suspected of murdering the Riddle family, though he was never convicted and is now an elderly groundskeeper who makes the unfortunate mistake of overhearing Voldemort’s latest plans to rid the world of Harry Potter, the protagonist of the entire series.
Although Harry awakes with a pain in his scar when this occurs, he quickly forgets about it as he joins his best friend, Ronald Weasley, and his family for a trip to the Quidditch World Cup, which is a major sporting event in the Wizarding World.
While the game and much of the time spent there was a success, the fun comes to an end when Death Eaters, who are followers of Voldemort, arrive on the scene to stir up fear. Before then, Ludo Bagman made a bet with the twins regarding the outcome of the quidditch game, which the twins won, and Mr. Crouch, Percy’s boss from the Ministry of Magic also showed up, along with his house elf Winky.
After arriving at the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, the students are introduced to their instructors for the years, including Mad-Eye Moody, who will be the defense against the dark arts instructor for the year. Also during the announcements, Headmaster Dumbledore announces that the institution will be hosting the Triwizard Tournament this year, where students from two competing schools will stay on campus for a period of time and engage in a series of wizarding challenging to determine which school takes the cup for the year.
Mad-Eye Moody breaks many of the rules regarding instruction, including discussing the unforgivable curses in class and turning Harry’s arch rival into a ferret. However, many of the students feel that he is a strange but acceptable instructor.
Of-age members from each of the schools toss their names into a goblet of fire to request entrance into the tournament. At the appropriate time, Dumbledore uses his magical powers to call forth the winning competitor from each institution. In a bizarre twist, the goblet also releases the name Harry Potter, although he never cast his name into the fire.
His classmates ostracize him and he struggles through the competitions. Eventually, his best friends Ron and Hermione come around and realize that he did not betray them.
It turns out that Mad-Eye Moody was responsible for placing Harry’s name in the goblet. However, this was not revealed until after the final competition, whereby one of Harry’s classmates, Cedric Diggory, died at the hands of Voldemort and his team that were waiting with a trap at the end of the third maze.
The story concludes with the youngsters reflecting upon the lessons that they learned throughout the adventures of the year, discussing summer plans, and promises of a bright new school year next fall.
